I was born in Liverpool, England, in 1961.  At the age of nine I moved to Australia with my family and 
have lived here ever since.

My fascination with art started from an early age and I would happily spend the cold winter days indoors 
drawing away the hours.

When I was eight years old, I met a friend of the family, an old man who would take a postcard, copy it, 
and paint it on a large canvas.  They were stunning, yet he was not completely satisfied with his work.  
The reason being, he told me, was that he had copied them and that a real artist should be original in his 
work.  Since that day I have always tried to create something new and original.

Another reason I have stuck with fantasy art and science is that, whether people like it or not, they spend 
more time looking at them than they would at conventional art.

When they see the art, they draw their own conclusion of what the paintings depict and this lets their own 
imagination take control. When they look at a painting of, say, a bowl of fruit, all they see is a bowl of 
fruit.  But when they actually stop and stare at your work, and you know their imagination is running 
wild, then to me as an artist, I am satisfied.
